Who we are

The Ashlar club was founded to give Freemasons and their families in the north of Sussex a means to meet and socialise outside the regular meetings of their lodges.

Our principal effort is to provide and organise events of various types aimed at the newer members (but not exclusively) of the fraternity, to encourage involvment and an atmosphere of brotherhood. Events are open to all brethren and their families, and even to prospective new initiates to the craft so they can get a feel for what its all about.

How to become a member

Any prospective member has to be a subscribing member of a Lodge or Chapter in the United Grand Lodge of England (UGLE). The club is aimed at people who do not yet have provincial rank (dark blues), however we actively encourage the support of the more experienced mason with open arms.

Cost and benefits

Joining is now free. By becoming a member of a lodge in the north of the province, you will automatically become a member. Most events that are laid on will have some sort of cost associated with it, but members will get a discount on those events, and will be given priority for tickets to events with a limited number of participants.
